Edwin L. McClendon is a co-founder, CEO and principal shareholder of McClendon, Morrison & Partners, LLC and CEO of McClendon, Morrison & Partners, Inc. its broker/dealer subsidiary. Mr. McClendon brings over 25 years of broad experience in the investment industry. Previously, Mr. McClendon was Executive Vice President and Head of Investment Banking at Terra Nova Financial Group, Inc, and also played a key role in capital budgeting the firm’s SEC financial reporting process. He also reviewed strategic growth opportunities for the firm. Mr. McClendon has more than a decade of buy-side and sell-side High Yield debt research and investment management experience with American Express, Dean Witter and 1st Chicago Capital Markets where he also traded distressed bank debt. Through most of the 1980’s he was an institutional investor and advisor in numerous LBO’s, public offerings, structured financings and distressed debt restructurings in various industries. From the early 1990’s, Mr. McClendon held senior Equity Research positions at BMO Nesbitt Burns Securities, Advest and William Blair & Company LLC. In addition to publishing detailed company and industry research reports, he was active in advising Information Technology investment banking clients on public offerings, mergers & acquisitions and private placements.
Mr. McClendon co-founded West Loop Partners LLC, general partner of the West Loop Partners Long/Short Balanced Fund 1 L.P.
Scott Morrison is a co-founder and managing partner of McClendon, Morrison & Partners, LLC. In the financial services industry, Mr. Morrison brings more than twenty years experience with broad and deeply-established relationships. He began his career in management and credit underwriting with the Southeastern Super Regional Commercial Banks; First Union, Barnett Bank, and Wachovia Bank. After earning an MBA, Scott travelled to Wall Street where he developed his sell-side investment banking skills at Salomon Brothers, Wertheim Schroder, and Credit Suisse. Scott also helped build an independent research firm; a broker dealer focused on China-based SME’s; and, most recently, Scott helped to lead an Investment Banking Division at Terra Nova Financial Group, Inc.
Mr. Morrison has a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and an MBA from Emory University.
Brian Megenity founded B/D Consulting Associates in 2001. Brian started his career in the securities industry at the NASD in Atlanta in 1993 and went on to work for securities consulting firms as well as for retail broker/dealers. He has held a number of different positions in the securities industry including Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Sales Practices & Advertising and Director of Surveillance. Most recently, Brian held the position of Chief Compliance Officer for a large insurance affiliated broker/dealer with more than 6000 registered representatives. Brian’s vast experience, both regulatory and retail, within the securities industry is the driving force behind BDCA and gives him a broad perspective of the financial services industry.
Sanders Witkow is an associate in the investment banking operations for McClendon, Morrison & Partners, LLC. As a recently minted University of Chicago alum, Mr. Witkow brings a fresh perspective to MMP’s business ventures. Since joining Messers McClendon and Morrison in 2007 at Terra Nova, Mr. Witkow has made himself an indispensible member of the MMP team. From co-ordinating deal-marketing operations, to registering new representatives to MMP’s growing platform, to developing an expertise in the green technology sector, Mr. Witkow provides essential assistance to the principles in virtually every aspect of the business.
